From Donald Trump to Joe Biden: The Adjustment and Continuation of U.S. Policy on Iran’s Nuclear Program

This paper is targeted at the policies and adjustments of the United States against the nuclear program of Iran during the administration of Donald Trump and Joe Biden and attempts to analyze the reasons and motivations. After the Trump administration took office, the United States unilaterally withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and implemented an all-round suppression of Iran. On the contrary, President Biden has shown a strong willingness to rejoin the deal and released goodwill to Iran frequently. Biden’s policy seems to be significantly different from that of Trump, but it does not deviate from the framework of the Trump administration. This paper explores the foreign policies of the two governments towards Iran through three levels of analysis and uses cognitive psychology to analyze the influence of Trump's personal factors on his policies. It concludes that Trump's policies on Iran nuclear issue during his administration are mainly affected by his political personality and national security environment, while Biden's strategic adjustment to the foreign policy is more influenced by political pressure at home and abroad besides national security.

Analysis of the Advantages and Disadvantages of the Three-child Policy and Its Impact Forecast

In response to the aging population, China has proposed a new family planning policy, the "three-child policy." On May 31, 2021, the Decision on Optimizing the Fertility Policy to Promote Long-term Balanced Population Development pointed out that China's fertility policy should be further optimized, which included that a couple can have three children. On July 20th, 2021, “the Decision of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Optimizing the Fertility Policy to Promote Long-term Balanced Population Development” was announced. On July 21, the "Notice of the Office of the National Medical and Social Security Bureau on Doing a Good Job in Supporting the three-Child Policy and Maternity Insurance” was announced. On August 20, 2021, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress passed a decision on the revision of “the Population and Family Planning Law”. The revised law advocates marriage of the right age, good prenatal and postnatal care, and that a couple can have three children. However, it is a great challenge to women, so whether this policy can be effectively improved and implemented will depend on the current social and political development situation. This paper will analyze the "three-child policy" from both advantages and disadvantages to predict its impact. This is beneficial because it can reduce the aging of the population and promote social and economic development. The disadvantages are the harm to women, physical influence, psychological pressure and social tolerance towards women, and whether the company will reject female employees.

China’s and Japan’s Foreign Aid Policies towards Ethiopia(2010-2020)

The phenomenon of Asia-African relations has received considerable attention since the start of the 21st century. As China and Japan are two leading Asian donors of Africa, their foreign aid policies are worth analyzing and comparing. Among African countries, Ethiopia is located in the horn of Africa, whose strategic position is relatively significant. In addition, Ethiopia has not been colonized in the history, which makes this case more meaningful. Most of the previous studies have concentrated on either one specific aspect like economic or certain country’s foreign aid policies towards Ethiopia. This research aims to analyze and compare China’s and Japan’s multifaceted foreign aid policies towards Africa and Ethiopia in particular. For this purpose, the primary data and materials have been collected from the official websites, official reports, and previous studies. The result shows that their differences involve political, economic and societal aspects. The Japanese government has tended to design detailed policies, guide companies to invest in Ethiopia and cooperate with the NGOs. On the contrary, China’s policies towards Ethiopia are more general, and the Chinese government has played a leading role in economic aiding than the Japanese government. In terms of the societal aspect, the Chinese government is more tending to cooperate with the Ethiopian government instead of the NGOs.

Research on Personal Information Protection Legislation in the Digital Age: Based on the Comparison of Current Legislation in China, America and Europe

With the development of Internet technology and the application of big data, the collection, dissemination and use of information become more convenient, people's private lives become more transparent, and concerns about information disclosure or illegal treatment of personal information also follow. By using the methods of literature analysis and comparative analysis, this paper tries to improve the legal protection mechanism of personal information in China by studying the latest legislation in Europe and the United States, and combining the national conditions and actual situation in China. Although the CCPA of the United States and the GDPR of the European Union have great reference significance, they should also pay attention to the potential problems existing in these two legislations, demonstrate the applicability of their practices with an objective and critical view, and formulate a personal information protection legal system with strong applicability that is suitable for China's national conditions.

The Relation Between Risk and Portfolios – Risk Management Project Portfolios

Project Portfolio Management (PPM) is a subsidiary of project management. It is used to control and coordinate the projects in various organizations' portfolios with clear objectives of maximizing the project results, balancing portfolio threats, and aligning the projects to meet the business's strategic aims. In many organizations, PPM is ranked on a higher level than the project management concept because the goal of PPM is to achieve the strategic objectives of an organization. However, risks typically arise during project implementation and management. The project managers constantly work to minimize the project risks while simultaneously maximizing the intended values of a given project. The project management teams should manage the risks while achieving the strategic goals and objectives of an organization. This paper discusses the relationship between PPM and risk management during the project implementation process. The paper explored the use of a systematic literature review to come up with these critical findings. The author recommends that there's a need to use empirical data to validate the existing theories and published literature findings. The project Portfolio Risk Management (PPRM) has practical and theoretical approaches in risk management (RM), decision theory, and modern portfolio theory. The use of a systematic literature review approach was used in the execution of this study to gain more insights into the influence of risks on project portfolio and success, identification of the project portfolio risks, and the management of risks in the project portfolio management context.

The Local Dynamics of Industrial Growth in Hong Kong Under the U.S. Embargo Policy in the 1950s

When people think of Hong Kong in the 1960s, most will recall the industrialized prosperity of Hong Kong. Most scholars regard the industrialized prosperity in the 1960s as a direct consequence of the U.S Embargo Policy launched in the 1950s, during the Korean War. However, a no less important driving force, the impacts of the dynamic role of local businessmen and local chambers on the growth of industries has been overlooked. Given the current academic neglect of the local dynamic role, this paper aims to analyze the driving force played by local actors such as associations, chambers of commerce, and even merchants in promoting Hong Kong’s industrial growth, especially in the shipping industries. This paper will demonstrate the effect of embargo policy as well as the contribution of local dynamics, which altogether provides a comprehensive understanding of the factors affecting Hong Kong’s industrial growth in the 1950s.

Cosmetic Industry Insights and Marketing Strategy Analysis of L’Oreal in China

With the expansion of China cosmetic market, many cosmetic groups are engaging in expend their market share. However, the development of cosmetics led to diversified consumers’ needs. Some of customers want to get more skincare products for sensitive skin meanwhile the others care about makeup products' characteristics. Various demands have led to the constant updating of the development strategies of the cosmetic groups. Through reading the literature and research reports on Chinese cosmetics in recent years, it is found that the Chinese cosmetics market is oligopolistic and L’Oreal is the biggest one in several big international groups. However, the rise of domestic cosmetic brands makes these big international groups feel threatened. Domestic brands have a better understanding on physiological and psychological needs of Chinese, even Asian consumers, which make them have the strong competitiveness. Finally, some implications are demonstrated from the perspective of culture, brand introduction, optimization of advertising structure, and consumers’ demands to help L’Oreal improve its competitiveness.

Analyzing the State of the U.S. Economy in the Post-Pandemic Era

With the normalization of the epidemic in the United States, the COVID-19 virus is increasingly regarded as a more contagious "big flu" with higher-fatality. The new coronavirus has mutated to make it more susceptible to multiple infections, and some patients may experience symptoms that last for months or years. Unlike previous direct economic crises, the COVID-19 epidemic has played a negative role in the transmission of economic policies in the process of economic recovery, reducing the pertinence of economic policies and the speed of full resumption of work and production. Given the accumulation of negative issues caused by economic policies in the U.S. since the epidemic, this article will discuss the current state of the U.S. industrial economy, high inflation and Fed policy, as well as the international environment and cooperation.

The Impact of Short-selling Institutions on Chinese Stock Companies and Market——From the Case of Luckin Coffee

As a major engine of the capital market, the stock market is favored by investors. But the huge profit space and operability are also easy to breed the soil of corruption and fraud. At present, due to the increased participation efficiency of short-selling institutions, the financial risks faced by enterprises have further increased. Through the case of Luckin coffee, we observe the stock price changes after it encountered short selling, combined with the model of the arbitrage pricing principle to find the role of short-selling institutions in the market. By disclosing corporate financial fraud, short-sellers can improve the effectiveness of market supervision to a certain extent, reduce the occurrence of stock market premiums, and bring stock prices back to their true levels. On the premise of ensuring the stability of the stock market and introducing a reasonable system, the Chinese market can also consider developing a similar mechanism to inject fresh blood into economic development.

How the Capital Structure Affects the Firm Performance of Real Estate Listed Companies Between 2010 to 2020 in China

The financial structure of a firm is often regarded as the most essential factor influencing its operating performance. The real estate industry, as an important part of China's current national economy, is a typical capital-intensive industry with a large demand for capital. However, the industry's characteristics lead to a relatively slow return of capital in the real estate industry, putting pressure on the industry's financing capacity and capital structure. This paper divides the capital structure into two components: gearing ratio and debt structure, and takes China's real estate listed companies from 2010 to 2020 as a sample. The influence of capital structure on the performance of listed companies is examined empirically. It is found that there is a non-linear relationship between gearing and firm performance, i.e. an inverted U-shaped relationship. This paper still holds after robustness tests such as variable substitution, which are hoped to be useful for business performance, future government regulation and policy implementation.

A Systematic Review: Revisiting Neoliberal Institutionalism in the Modern Context with Political Philosophy Considerations

This paper contributes to the modern neoliberal institutionalist line of thinking and international relations studies by revisiting and discussing neoliberal arguments under today’s socio-economic and political background. The goal is to defend neoliberal institutionalism through a brief and yet systematic review of classical neoliberal works. An interdisciplinary approach is taken through paralleling neoliberalism with theories in philosophy (utilitarianism and pragmatism) and politics. Criticisms from neorealists and worrying issues like state-contestation and counter-institutionalization are discussed and defended. Afghanistan’s accession to becoming a WTO member has been used as an example to show the positive influence that international organizations and institutions can exert in the 21st century.

The Relationship Between Bonds and The Current Economy

Since 2020, the outbreak of COVID-19 has had a huge impact on the global economy. In fact, as early as the outbreak of the financial crisis in 2008, it has deeply revealed the complexity of the macroeconomic system, the systemic importance of the financial sector and its high sensitivity to economic exogenous shocks. As an important part of the financial market, bond has a very important impact on the current economic development. Through the study of the current world economy, this paper finds that the epidemic is an unexpected event that changes the world power, the world pattern and the world economic relations, and will bring a profound impact on the world economy. Perhaps the most important change, pre - and post-pandemic, is that the challenges facing humanity will be even greater. The economic growth of developed economies is also unstable due to the impact of the epidemic. The growth of developing countries and emerging economies is more unstable, the risk of inflation and deflation will alternate, and the debt and financial risks are increasing. The risk of supply chain restructuring and supply chain relinking will alternate. A bond market is a place where the government can raise funds in a credit way to balance fiscal revenues and expenditures, which can play a role in promoting economic development. However, the excessive development of the bond market has a negative impact on economic growth and even poses a threat to economic stability. In this regard, this paper puts forward suggestions from the government, enterprise decision-makers and investors to promote the healthy development of the economy.

From a stock market perspective: Is Lockdown Policy the Best Long-term Solution to COVID? Evidence from China and the UK

As one of the most frequently-taken measures to combat the COVID-19 viral spread, the lockdown policy had always been questioned with its impacts on the stock markets and accessibility in the long run. In this paper, I examine the respective stock closing prices of FTSE.GI and 0.000001SH in the UK and China, the countries that had announced lockdown policies several times to find out whether the lockdown restrictions and relaxations negatively affected the investors and their performance in the stock market. By analyzing the stock data with economic theories, it is found that although the markets did show positive returns in the final phases of declarations, they went through low liquidity, high volatility and negative returns for the majority time. Furthermore, the results also suggest that because of the presence of economic inertia and negative investor sentiment, further lockdown had adversely impacted the stock markets, indicating that the alternant lockdown announcements (restriction and relaxation) are not the best long-term solution to COVID from a stock market perspective.

Why China Became the First Major Country to Implement the CBDC

It took only four years for China to transform CBDC research and development into pilot projects. Among the countries engaged in CBDC research, China may have made the fastest progress in CBDC research and development. However, the current research focuses mainly on mechanism and the design of e-cny and its geopolitical implications, and does not answer the question why the people's Bank of China became the first major country to implement CBDC. To answer these questions, this paper analyzes the institutional foundations from a macro strategic perspective that have allowed China and the PBoC to lead the world in testing CBDC. Then this paper analyzes China’s CBDC development process with a focus on the role of China’s financial regulatory institutions and policy innovation. It identifies the key agencies and key decision makers in the process of China’s CDBC research and development process. It also provides a comparative analysis of China’s institutional feature vis-à-vis the United States to further illustrate China’s institutional settings for it to be the first to launch CBDC.

Transmission Mechanism of U.S. Monetary Policy to Economies

Due to the special status of the United States and the U.S. dollar in the world economy, the U.S. monetary policy has a significant spillover effect on the world. Especially since the subprime mortgage crisis in 2007, the U.S. monetary policy has attracted more attention from the world. Combined with the previous literature, this paper finds that the transmission channels of the US monetary policy uncertainty spillover effect include exchange rate expectation channel, financial asset allocation channel, contagion of monetary policy uncertainty, and real option effect. Among them, the channel of exchange rate expectations, the channel of financial asset allocation and the channel of contagion of monetary policy uncertainty are responsive and rapid, while the real option effect has a slow and long-term impact on the real economy. At the same time, there are differences in the spillover effects of U.S. monetary policy uncertainty on different countries. The results of this study have certain guiding significance for monetary policy formulation in other countries, such as strengthening the supervision of cross-border bonds and cross-border investment. Especially under the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, major developed economies have implemented a new round of quantitative easing monetary policies, and policymakers in emerging economies need to pay great attention to this.

Company Website Content and Revenue: Mission, Vision, Values, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion in Fortune 1000 Companies

Companies worldwide create mission, vision, and values (MVV) statements to center their objectives, guide employees' behaviors and increase revenues. As more movement for societal reform takes place, companies started to emphasize diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in their workplaces, and DEI has become an increasingly important factor for employee recruiting. In theory, MVV statements and DEI improvements should increase company performance as they push for more effective employee behavior and intellectual collaboration. This paper partially assess the truth of this theory by determining if Fortune 1000 companies' publicity of their MVV statements and DEI strategies correlate with their status as Fortune 500. Specifically, whether companies' mentioning of their MVV statements and DEI strategies on their website—where customers, employees, and potential employees obtain information about the company—correlate with their rankings on Fortune 1000. Through the aforementioned analysis, this paper found that Fortune 500 companies are more likely to include vision and values statements and possess a longer vision statement and more company values on their websites. This means it may be beneficial for companies looking to increase their revenues to include vision statements around length 8, the median vision statement length for the sampled Fortune 500 companies, and include around 4 company values, the median number of company values for the sampled Fortune 500 companies. Referencing the contents of this paper may assist companies seeking to improve their income.

Can the ‘AI-Generated Content’ be Protected as ‘Work’ Under Copyright Law? ---Jurisprudential Developments in China

Recent Chinese cases of the copyright disputes on AI-generated content (AGC) reveal challenges to copyright jurisprudence by Natural Language Processing (NPL)-based AI systems. Some scholars argued from the perspectives of intellectual characteristics of the AGC. This paper, however, combines historical and doctrinal methods to show that the production process of AGC should be the defining factor of work. This paper argues that modern copyright law does not protect the AI-generated content from the aspect of copyright law in intellectual writings/ paintings/ music/ art as ‘work’. ‘Work’ in the history of copyright law requires direct human intellectual labor, which the AI lacks. AI does not have physical and / or mental labor to the levels of humans, and the human physical and intellectual labors put into building the AI system is different from the AI’s production of contents. These are two separate and consecutive processes: humans make AI, and AI automatically generates contents. The second process cannot produce work because it does not involve comparable labor to humans.

The First Female President in Tanzania: Analyzing Samia Suluhu Hassan's Electoral Success

The inauguration of Samia Suluhu Hassan as Tanzania's first female president in March 2021 caught the world's attention. Since the highest political positions are typically dominated by men, the career life of a new female president could be instructional for achieving gender parity in political participation. Previous Academic literature has studied women in power from different perspectives, including the upbring environment, personal characteristics, and special social context. In this article, I examine Samia's electoral success in the 2010 election, which was a major milestone on her path to becoming president, as it brought her to key positions in the Tanzanian government and the ruling party. I argue that Samia Suluhu's electoral success is largely due to her personal charisma and attributes, the encouraging international and domestic social context for women, as well as local politics and civil unrest in Zanzibar, which instigated a social consensus for the need for a new leadership style that Samia offered.

Exploration of Earnings Management and Lexical Richness: a study of companies in North America

This paper investigates how the lexical richness of a corporation’s annual financial reports connects with earnings management (EM) in all industry sectors (except industries with different accounting methods, such as Utilities and Financial services) and in North America only. In order to explore the above-mentioned relationship, this study introduces new variables – Type-token proportion (TTR). Utilizing the TTR and the square root of TTR (denoted as Unique Index in this paper) to quantify the lexical extravagance of the management discussion and analysis section of the annual report (MD&A), this paper anticipates and finds that firms probably going to have manipulated their earnings to beat the previous year’s benchmark and have MD&As with high-level writing proficiency (a kind of complexity). This is coherent with the conclusion of Lo et al.’s paper: good news is inherently easier to communicate, and suggests that words of choice help complicate disclosure and conceal bad news.

Analysis on the Influence of Height on the Happiness of the Elderly

Previous studies have shown that higher heights can bring greater happiness for human being. Although most scholars agree that height will affect people's happiness through material factors such as higher income and a higher success rate in the mate selection market. Not all scholars believe that the influence of height on happiness can be explained by these material factors. This paper aims to study whether height will have a positive impact on happiness for the elderly when relevant material factors are diluted. The author uses CGSS data in 2017 to establish an OLS regression model and comes to the conclusion that height has a positive impact on the happiness of the elderly, and finds that this impact is more significant for men than for women. The author excluded the possibility that this effect was caused by the accumulation of material in the past by adding interactive regression to the model. At the end of the article, the author looks forward to further clarifying the mechanism behind this influence.

Business Cycle in Singapore during the Period from 1981 to 2021

Undoubtedly, the concept of the business cycle has become a crucial topic of research, given that the business cycle reflects a nation's economic development and that assessing the business cycle lays the groundwork for a nation to introduce a diverse array of economic policies. This research study aims to evaluate Singapore's business cycles from 1971 to 2021, a span of 41 years. The yearly real GDP and several of its components (private consumption, gross fixed capital formation, and government consumption spending), and CPI were filtered utilizing the Hodrick-Prescott method. Taking the cyclical components of real GDP as the reference cycle and other economic indicators as specific cycles, the author assessed and measured the fluctuations and co-movements between them with the application of standard deviation and correlation coefficient. Last, a few policy suggestions are proposed. There are five main conclusions in this article: (1) Singapore's real GDP is highly susceptible to changes in the international environment; (2) Private consumption, investment, and CPI have a positive and significant correlation with GDP, and investment is of greater relevance to economic growth in the short run; (3) Government expenditure and GDP are negatively correlated; (4) Private investment appears to be a possible cause of business cycle shocks due to the most dramatic fluctuation; and (5) The government of Singapore should encourage private investment so as to boost economic prosperity in the short term, and then promote private consumption to achieve national prosperity in the long run.

Review and Practice of Option Pricing Research

This paper reviews the past research on option pricing, including the Bachelier option pricing formula, Black-Scholes model, and the Cox-Ross-Rubinstein (CRR) binomial option pricing model. Then some practical calculations are performed on the Black-Scholes model and CRR binomial model and the differences between the results of these two models are analyzed for investors to choose the appropriate model for option prices. From the practical calculation results, it is verified that the Black-Scholes model can give out the analytical solutions of option prices and decrease the calculation of solution, while it can only be used for European options with stock prices regarded as a continuous process. For the CRR binomial model, although it can only give numerical solutions and requires lots of calculation because of too many branches, but it can solve the American option prices with early exercises and the European option prices with stock prices regarded as a discrete process.

Research on the Development of Sports Industry under the Background of New Crown Epidemic Based on Big Data Analysis

The sudden COVID-19 outbreak in 2019 has had a huge impact on all walks of life around the world. Schools, shopping malls, companies and sporting events have closed or gone bankrupt. This study will focus on the impact of COVID-19 on the future development of the sports event industry. In this regard, we divided the overall impact into three perspectives to analyze: 1. We first analyzed the data of many major international sports events affected by the COVID-19 epidemic. We compared the financial data of event organizers before and after the pandemic and analyzed their revenue changes. 2. At the same time, we also studied the impact on sponsors of sports events before and after the pandemic. We used data from the Olympic Games over the years and sports events like the NBA to do the analysis. 3. Finally, we analyzed typical sports industry companies to study their financial statements and revenue changes before and after the pandemic, such as NIKE. In addition, we also conducted research on the surrounding industries of sports events, such as supplies for sports events, players' jerseys, energy drinks and so on. Broadcasters are also the subject of our analysis. We analyze the target events they broadcast and the ratings of broadcast events. Our findings suggest that the impact of COVID-19 on sporting events has been mixed: the good thing is that it has boosted new events, such as esports. Esports is an all-in-one format, and even offline events are staged on an electronic screen. So esports has emerged as one of the new mainstream events when so many major events have been canceled; The bad news is mainly the impact on the large offline industry, many events are shelved, and sponsors' ads are nowhere to be shown and shown, and sponsors' money is lost. But the pandemic has not caused major sponsors to pull back, just a small number of companies and investors. The significance of this study is to analyze the impact of the pandemic on the future development of sports events, so as to help people identify the current situation and future exit of major sports events, help investors understand the emerging and potential sports events, and help people understand how to mitigate the impact of the pandemic on sports events.

Understanding the Importance and Profitability Impact of Debt to Equity Ratio on Companies

The progressive debate on the capitalist system of capitalism has been one of the most important institutional topics in the literature since Modigliani and Miller (M-M theorem 1958 and 1963) incorporated it into origin and education. Financial impact on company value. To address this issue, it relied on an international agency that has evaluated the performance of large and low-debt companies since 2004. December. until 2018 The findings showed the performance of large debt capital companies. significantly lower than the low debt-to-equity ratio. We noticed tall companies. Businesses are designed to be financially stable and therefore cheaper than their peers, as higher debt leads to less bankruptcy losses. Interestingly, our research focuses on specific areas: cross-border, cross-sectoral, added value and long-term analysis. These empirical data later contradicted M. M.'s recommendations on the principle of inequality in the capital system (1958; 1963).
