Comparison of Chinese and American Banks' Loan Financing Business

In this article, we aim to compare the bank’s loan financing business in China and the United States. We will focus on banks' personal lending business, including housing, student, and personal consumption loans. We will analyze the personal loan business of Chinese and U.S. banks separately and compare the personal loan business of both banks. The result of our comparison is that the government controls the lending system in China. China's loan system is formulated by the People's Bank of China, which is less liberal than the US loan system. China's loan laws are also imperfect, and there is a lack of third-party supervision. The United States has a complete system with guarantor agencies that China does not have. The government and the market are Multi-participation, and the Secondary Market is also involved, sharing the risk.

Different Cultures of Online Shopping Modalities: How Emerging Economic Modalities Shape Contemporary Society

The emergence of economic modalities shapes different cultural societies by increasing platform economy in which consumers form different consumer behaviors between China and the United States. The previous study explained that U.S. consumers are resistant to online shopping due to privacy concerns. Previous research has studied the issue by interviewing U.S. consumers and by giving data for both China and U.S., and there are no possible solutions for this issue. Our study uses qualitative research to find databases between two countries and analyze consumer behavior differences. Our finding indicates that the unpopularity of the U.S. platform economy is because of the lack of a star economy, strong consumer rationality, and low level of vulnerability to the image. As opposed to previous assumptions, our study suggests adding diversified goods to the platform, offering appealing titles, and building convenient online consumption methods in order to make U.S. online shopping popular.

The Implementation and Refinement of Range Breakout Strategy in Chinese Commodity Market

The range breakout strategy is a momentum strategy that involves taking a long position in a security when its price exceeds a predetermined range and a short position when the price falls below the range. Previous research has indicated that this strategy is well-suited to the price volatility patterns observed in commodity markets. Considering the significant expansion and di-versification of China's commodity market in recent years, we decided to apply the range breakout strategy to China's commodity futures market and assess its feasibility and profitability. Our research utilized historical performance data from the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange and Shanghai Future Exchange between September 1, 2012, and July 31, 2022, obtained from CSMR as our database. We focused on the top 27 most liquid commodity futures categories to construct our back-testing portfolio. Our approach centered around using volatility as the basis for entry signals in the range breakout strategy and signal weighting as a portfolio construction method. The results demonstrate that the range breakout strategy, based on volatility, is highly effective in China's commodity futures market. This research con-tributes to the enrichment of optimization strategies in China's Future Market. Furthermore, we explored the use of cross-commodity hedging and the Average True Range (ATR) indicator to further enhance the strategy. Although no practical improvements were discovered beyond the original strategy, this exploration offers valuable insights for future research.

The Differences in Accounting Quality between Chinese Companies and American Companies Listed in the United States

This research paper investigates the difference between Chinese listed companies in the US and US companies regarding the quality of accounting information from companies’ annual reports. After a careful review of literature, researchers decided to apply classic M-score model for information processing and one sample t-test to determine the relationship between accounting quality and the country of the company. There are two hypotheses, and the first one is that the difference between the mean M-score of U.S. listed Chinese companies and the mean M-score of U.S. companies is not significant. The second one is the difference between the mean M-score of U.S. listed Chinese companies, and the mean M-score of U.S. companies is significant. This research result turned out to support the first hypothesis, indicating that the difference between the accounting qualities of the two types of companies is not significant.

Research on Enterprise Supply Chain Management --- Taking Apple as an Example

The term “supply chain management” first appeared in the logistics literature in the mid-1980s. The goal of so-called supply chain management is to plan, implement and control in order to reduce production costs and improve production efficiency. This paper aims to analyze enterprise supply chain management. The supply chain involves most of the products in our lives. The paper starts by presenting an overview of supply chain and the importance of it. This paper chooses Apple as an example to analyze supply chain management. Apple is the world's leading high-tech company, which can offer me some experience. The supply chain was not pioneered by Apple, but they do a good job. In the supply chain, part of the enterprise's business is external, which reduces costs and improves production efficiency. Apple is consumer-oriented. Some businesses are external and so on, which makes it a win-win situation for him and his partners. But there are also some problems in Apple's supply chain management, such as excessive exploitation of downstream suppliers and neglect of employee rights and interests. Then this paper discusses how they make changes in order to improve supply management. Finally, we summarize how to effectively manage supply chains in businesses. Apple needs to pay attention to the low-end market, strengthen the supervision of suppliers, reduce the exploitation of suppliers, and truly protect the rights and interests of those suppliers' employees. In addition, it should shorten and optimize the supply chain to make the company's operations more stable.

The Degree of Information Exchange on the Effectiveness and Efficiency of Cooperation in the Bargaining Game

This study extends the understanding of game theory on cooperative utility and efficiency. The paper investigated the literature of Rubinstein Model with perfect information in Game theory by adding authors’ knowledge and experiment of how the degree of information affect effectiveness and efficiency of cooperation. This research is based on previous experiment by designing a new experiment and collecting qualitative data. Allocative efficiency is further discussed in our strategic game setup. Types of motivation were also evaluated in the investigation, including intrinsic, extrinsic, and image motivation, to analyze the possible correlation between players’ strategic behaviors and motivation. Motivation can lead to interactive cooperative behavior, leading to either success or failure of achieving allocative efficiency. This paper also analyzed the reasons behind uncooperative behaviors. Based on the findings, the theory of the importance of incentive-based cooperative behavior in bargaining games has been developed.

Three Industry Characteristics Affecting Capital Structure: Review of Literature

This paper summarizes the literature that studies the impact of industry characteristics on capital structure, and focuses on three factors, namely, growth opportunities, tangibility and firm size. We find that most literature supports the following conclusions: growth opportunities are negatively correlated with leverage, tangible assets are positively correlated with leverage, and enterprise size is positively correlated with debt level. At the same time, we find some limitations in previous studies. For example, scholars generally use linear regression as research method, and focus more on developed countries rather than on developing countries. According to these current situations, we give several suggestions for future research directions.

The Impact of Non-war Geopolitical Risk on Return and Implied Volatility on Stock

The impact of non-war geopolitical risks on stocks has not been adequately studied in the academic literature. This paper intends to explore whether disputes between countries or related political news have some impact on stocks prior to the occurrence of war. This paper focused on examining the impact of non-war geopolitical risks on the returns and implied volatility of the call option related to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company’s stock. In this paper, different models are used to predict the stock returns and the implied volatility of some call options related to this stock and then compares the estimation with the real data in order to perform hypothesis testing to determine whether the difference is significant. This paper found that non-war geopolitical controversies do not affect the stock returns, but that investors' reaction to risk can be affected differently depending on the nature of the event.

Research on Holiland's Word-of-mouth Marketing Strategy Based on 5T Theory

In recent years, driven by the trend of baked food as the main meal and capital investment, the baking market has continued to expand with frequent clashes between old and new brands, therefore, both opportunities and challenges coexist. Established in 1992, Chinese baking brand Holiland quickly seized the market through a series of comprehensive and efficient marketing strategies, escaped from the "midlife crisis", and became a top domestic baking brand. Its marketing model is worth exploring. Based on the 5T theory of word-of-mouth marketing proposed by American marketing master Andy Senoviez, this paper analyzes Holiland’s marketing strategies from five aspects: talkers, topics, tools, taking part, and tracking. Through analysis, it is concluded that Holiland has a good reputation because it can arouse the identity of the Generation Z (Gen Z) consumer group and it is good at creating hot topics. Furthermore, it constructs media matrix promotion, pays attention to interactive management, and tracks customer feedback on a regular basis.

Analysis of Marketing Strategies of Louis Vuitton Based on The Marketing Theory of 4Ps

Increasing economic development and disposable income are transforming China into a middle-class society. As more and more people are able to meet their basic needs (e.g., leisure and employment), they are more inclined to pursue luxury products to fulfill their material needs. Consequently, luxury brands should use effective marketing strategies to attract as many potential consumers as possible to maximize their chances of tapping into this huge market. Therefore, this essay aims to provide insight into luxury brand marketing strategies in China, using the example of Louis Vuitton. The article adopted the 4P marketing model to identify the successful marketing strategies for LV through price, product, promotion, and place, as well as to provide additional advice on the existing strategies. While the research clearly indicates that these marketing strategies are efficient, LV should also take precautions to avoid diverting its target market from high-end consumers, do more research on their ambassador choices, co-brand with more native Chinese designers, and launch more China-exclusive special edition products.

Comparing the Efficiency of Gender Policy in Canada and the United States by the Female Employment Rate

Companies in society began to focus more on gender problems and provide more privileges for women by creating policies that recruit more female employees. The efficiency of this policy differs in various fields in different countries despite almost every company utilizing this policy. By looking at the data about the changes in the number of women employees and women employees-to-all employees ratio from the 20th century to now, this research paper compares the rate of female employment changes in two countries, Canada and the United States. To indicate which country, Canada or the United States, is more efficient about the policy based on different fields, this paper used linear regressions to observe the slopes of female employment changes from 1987 to 2021 in business, health, government, trade, transportation, and manufacturing fields. This paper also identifies which area has more efficiency in using policy inside each Canada and the United States.

Research on the Supply Network of Camellia Oil in Anhui Province

Tea oil is becoming more and more popular in China. Based on a field investigation, this paper analyzes the supply network of Camellia oil in the local markets of Anhui. It is found that there are 3 network models of Camellia oil supply. The towns or counties with only one factory and sufficient Camellia seeds have the lowest risk and the best chance in oil supply. The towns or counties with just one factory and just enough Camellia seeds are at the greatest risk and have the least chance in oil supply. The towns or counties with two factories and Camellia seeds that can only supply one factory have a moderate risk and the tied best chance of oil supply. The network's primary limiting factor is the availability of Camellia seeds. The probability of the supply network can be considerably increased and the risk can be greatly decreased with more factories and sufficient Camellia seeds.

Capital Structure and Firm Performance: Evidence from China’s New Energy Industry

Over the past decade, China's new energy industry has taken a leading position all over the world. To promote the healthy development of China's new energy industry, this paper takes 89 China's new energy listed companies between 2012 and 2021 as a sample and uses panel and OLS regression to study the impact of capital structure of China’s new energy listed companies on corporate performance. The results of this paper show that in China's new energy industry, the asset-liability ratio is negatively associated with company performance, the equity concentration ratio is negatively related to firm performance, and the equity checks and balances is positively correlated with firm performance. China's new energy listed companies should optimize the debt and equity structure, reasonably control the debt, and strengthen the equity checks and balances to promote the stable development of the industry.

A Research on the Social Innovation (SI) Approach to Social Entrepreneurship

Social entrepreneurship is a type of social innovation that has developed over the past decade. This study examines the mechanism of the association between SE and innovation, we propose SE as a paradigm for solving social and social challenges, and then the intrinsic qualities of SI. The fact that SE relies on a disjointed body of literature that lacks a cohesive theoretical foundation is a significant factor in supporting this methodological approach. Thus, the qualitative method is ideal for exploring the many facets of entrepreneurship. Take Australia, for example, although the Australian economic system is not mature enough, three major challenges were recognized, and based on these challenges social managements across the organization are established. The research significance of this paper is to focus on the innovation of social entrepreneurs and the help that their spirit brings to society or social problems. In addition, our findings allow us to highlight the major stages of the scientific inquiry process, including entrepreneur support, third space creation, and community of practice formation.

Impact of COVID-19 on the Manufacturing Industry: A Case Study of 3M Company

The 2019 coronavirus pandemic is the largest impact on manufacturing since the 2008 financial crisis. The impact on the manufacturing supply chain is particularly prominent. Much of the research by economists on the impact of the pandemic on industries has focused on risk transmission and macroeconomics. However, there is a lack of research on the financial status of individual companies and the adjustment strategies of companies in the face of shocks. Through a case study of 3M company, this paper aims to explore the impact of COVID-19 on the manufacturing industry. By analyzing the company's internal financial situation and external environmental impact, this paper illustrates whether the company's adjustment strategy is useful during the pandemic. The results show that large manufacturing companies have the ability to internalize the impact of risks. At the same time, backward integration of supply chain management strategy is one of the best ways for companies to improve the robustness of the supply chain.

An Analysis of Factors Affecting the Housing Market of San Jose Using MLR Model

This article seeks to explain the unstable curve of housing prices in San Jose by analyzing the data of factors that may affect the housing market. By previous research conducted by other scholars, we believe there were five major factors which cause the housing prices to fluctuate, which are construction costs, total population, median income, mortgage rates and crime rates. Introducing multiple linear regression (MLR) as an approach to analyze and based on the monthly data of five-years period, from 2015 to 2019, we find an increase of mortgage rates and construction costs can lead to an increase in housing prices and other factors may not affect the housing prices as expected. However, due to lacking monthly data of certain factors like total population, we use other information associated with the factors to find an approximation of the real monthly data. Hence, while the conclusion provides certain explanations of housing prices for the buyers, it is built on many assumptions and may not perfectly fit the real behaviour of the housing market of San Jose.

How to Effectively Identify Financial Risks in Financial Management

In the context of global economic integration, China’s financial industry has been influenced by the international situation, and the openness of the industry is obvious. The entry of foreign financial institutions has made the competition in China’s financial market more and more intense, which has intensified the financial risks while promoting economic growth. In view of this, this paper will discuss in depth the effective identification of financial risks in financial management and put forward feasible protection countermeasures, aiming to help the financial industry further improve its risk management. Research on High Pricing Smartphone

Since the introduction of the iPhone X, we have seen more and more phones that are priced at about $1000, and some of them are priced at about $2000. However, are these phones too expensive for most people? Many people do not want to buy these phones because, in some places around the world, people think these phones are too expensive. In addition, what benefits do the companies get when they price these phones this way? Thus, we can take Apple as an example. By evaluating the financial report from Apple, this paper aims to find out whether or not this kind of strategy is successful. Then, it suffices to show that by increasing the products' prices, the products' profits also increase. Thus, this strategy can be very successful since Apple has become the company with the highest market value. In addition, since the cost of production has increased dramatically, Apple needs high prices to keep the revenue stable. In some cases, these phones may not be overpriced.

Research on the Financial Model Selection between Capital Asset Pricing Model, Arbitrage Pricing Model, and Fama-French Model

Financial modeling magnifies the importance of various systematic and unsystematic risks occurring in modern finance, which elicits the functionality of the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM) introduced by Sharpe, Lintner, and Treynor. A considerable amount of societal support for CAPM has been triggered by its simplicity and precision in terms of making decisions for assets based on absolute risk rather than total risk. Objectively speaking, CAPM is also deeply limited by its unique prerequisites or assumptions. One pivotal point for investors to ponder is the selection of different methods and judge the individual applicability before implementation and this article aims to offer investors some financial advice derived from this process. Methods applied in this article involve information-gathering from empirical examples and tests, as well as financial analysis by comparison and selection among several models. This paper concludes that the Arbitrage Pricing Model (APM) and Fama French factor(s) Model (FFM) are differentiated and should be applied selectively and accordingly to cater to the imminent situations that investors are about to tackle.

Real Estate Development in China’s Third Tier Cities

The development of real estate in China is undergoing a difficult time. Development in the third tier cities is at a high rate, yet there is little or no population growth in these cities. Instead, the people are moving from these cities to others, creating a fall in the price of housing. The challenges have been occasioned by the free market in which the firms are operating, even though 60% of Chinese GDP is from these cities. It means that they are important, and there is a need to ensure that they are well regulated to create sustainability. The study used a document analysis method to collect the data. The researcher examined the different papers and documents which have been published on the subject of real estate development in China’s third-tier cities. Thereafter, a critical analysis was conducted to make sense of the data and information collected. In the following sections, this paper will discuss the current state of real estate and the potential impact of the overdevelopment in China’s third tier cities. This paper notes that tier-three cities are overdeveloped, yet the population is lower than what the real estate sector supplies. This means that the sector is in deep debt, an issue that can and should be avoided. In the meanwhile, the relevant recommendations will be given. Some of the recommendations include the following: Formulating appropriate policies to ensure that there is clear regulation for investors in the real estate industry in China; The government should take an active role in the real estate sector in China; The government needs to ensure that there is little mass flow of people from third tier cities by ensuring that there are incentives to make people stay in the cities.

An Empirical Study of the Relationship between Clean Energy Consumption and Economic Growth

To achieve the dual carbon objectives, the Chinese government adopted and implemented a policy of restructuring energy consumption. This paper empirically analyses the relationship between clean energy and economic growth in China by modifying the Cobb-Douglas model. Data on GDP, labour, capital, non-clean energy consumption, and clean energy consumption over the period 1990-2021 are selected to be examined using time series measures. The results show that there is no long-term equilibrium relationship between clean energy and economic growth. Based on the result, this paper suggests that the Chinese government should continuously transform its energy structure to boost its reliance on clean energy so that clean energy can advance the dual carbon goals while fostering economic growth. Finally, the paper gives recommendations on restructuring the energy structure, achieving the dual carbon goal, and promoting sustainable economic growth.

Real Estate Value Analysis Using Models

Housing is an indispensable material basis for people's lives, and its price significantly impacts their lives. There are various forms of valuation to determine the price, and the simplest is to determine the price at which the property would have traded on a particular date. However, there is a wide range of purposes for which valuation is required. The cost of a property depends on factors such as size, floor, location, parking space, etc. The purpose of this paper is to use a multivariate back model as a basis for sub-categorizing the factors that affect the price of real estate and provides a reference for residential real estate price management and regulation.
