It has been confirmed that China's fertility rate has fallen below the fifth lowest globally and has fully entered the low fertility trap. There is an urgent need to increase the fertility rate. This paper mainly studies the causes of the gradual decline in fertility in China in recent years. It compares the subsidy measures taken by various countries to cope with the low fertility rate. It compares the living cost and economic policy system in China to analyze how China should raise the fertility rate. Through the analysis and summary of the literature, it is found that the reasons for the decrease in China's fertility rate year by year are that the explicit and implicit costs of birth and raising are too high, and the allocation of educational resources is unfair, resulting in low social identity and low happiness. With the gradual decrease of the fertility rate, the population structure changes, and the risk increases, making it difficult for the fertility rate to return to normal. Therefore, China should follow the Nordic countries' policies on parenting costs and social welfare, favor multi-child families, reduce parenting costs after childbirth, improve family happiness, and introduce economic support policies for child-rearing. At the same time, China should avoid the policy risk of "only giving money" and avoid the ineffective phenomenon of increasing welfare but declining fertility rates instead of rising.

ESG is one of the critical topics in today’s research. In recent years, researchers have found that sustainability, as represented by ESG, plays a significant role in the development of companies. However, there is a lack of a coherent explanation related to ESG in the segment of the fashion industry in which companies are located. Therefore the research topic of this paper is the relationship between the development of the fashion industry and ESG. The research methodology of this paper is as follows: firstly, we collect the reports like CSR Extract and Annual report published by Hermes, LVMH, and Inditex on their official websites, and then we conduct a qualitative analysis to explore the development of the fashion industry and the investment of fashion industry enterprises in ESG. The study found that ESG in the fashion industry can effectively promote the sustainable development of fashion industry enterprises themselves and also promote the sustainable development of the whole industry.
The world is facing a slowdown in economic growth with the deceleration of global economic globalization, the accumulation of trade barriers across countries and the lack of domestic demand. In particular, the slower industrial recovery after the epidemic and the shift in the international investment boom have further tested the ability of companies and their supply chains to adapt to this complex market environment. Through a comprehensive analysis of Huawei, a leading Chinese high-tech company in the post-sanctions era, this paper provides new ideas for Chinese companies’ development strategies to ensure their survival and sustainable development. This paper analyzes the four dimensions (policy, economy, technology, and society environment). It summarizes Huawei’s competitive performance in these four dimensions to get some suggestions for the development strategy of modern enterprises, which are to pay attention to technological development, keep up with the pace of policies, and manage and control risks.
This research mainly focuses on the exchange rate fluctuations after the British government of Liz Truss announced to introduce the tax reduction policies, mini-budget. This budget covers the abolition of the highest 45% income tax rate, turning down the income tax and partial stamp duty, aiming to provide greater tax relief to the wealthy to encourage investment and consumption. Based on the SVAR, in the case of high inflation and high debt, tax reduction policies may further intensify the pressure of currency depreciation, leading to a significant decline in the exchange rate. In addition, this paper found that fiscal expenditures and inflation rate have significant and persistent impact on the exchange rate. The conclusion of this research emphasizes that the tax reduction policies in the context of high inflation and high debt will exacerbate the exchange rate fluctuations, which has important implications for policy makers and market participants. In the current highly unstable global economy, a deep understanding of the impact of tax reduction policies on the money market is crucial for stabilizing the economy and monetary system.

Driven by digital transformation, the scale, profitability and solvency of commercial banks show a clear positive relationship with the core competitiveness of commercial banks. According to the research conclusions, this paper shows that the development strategies of using digital transformation to improve core competitiveness should be different for banks of different sizes and degrees of development, but all commercial banks should pay attention to the advantages of what digital transformation can bring in improving core competitiveness.
Climate policies benefit the environment, but they can also incur costs in the economy. This paper examines two climate policies, which are carbon tax and cap and trade, and focuses on the impact of carbon tax and cap and trade on occupations in the United States, since different states in the U.S. implement different climate policies. The study finds that carbon tax and cap and trade benefit green occupations, skilled occupations, and large-sized firms and damage non-green occupations, unskilled occupations, and small and middle-sized firms. By analyzing and comparing the employment rate of occupations in each category, this study determines that climate policies stifle occupations, but not all types of occupations, and when certain premises are met, carbon tax creates occupations. This research paper contributes to the literature by exploring the costs of carbon tax and cap and trade and helps the public to respond to environmental issues more effectively.
In the recent years, numerous environmental policies aiming at deterring environmentally hazardous actions have been put in place as a result of the increased concern for environmental quality in the United States. The unemployment rate is impacted by these regulations, which encourage environmental conservation. In addition, given structural unemployment, it is crucial to provide a just transition, providing employees and communities impacted by the move to a more sustainable economy with adaquate support. Policymakers and stakeholders must be aware of how environmental levies, in particular cap and trade, affect unemployment in order to weigh potential trade-offs and create mitigation plans for unfavorable effects. This research paper aims to investigate the relationship between cap and trade policies and unemployment rates. The literature review will encompass both environmental and economic perspectives to support the claims and discussions. Regression analysis and hypothesis testing are applied to set up relationships between cap and trade and unemployment rate. The findings may be used to draw conclusions and have interaction in discussions, dropping light on the complicated relationship among environmental policies and employment dynamics. In the long run, this study aims to provide insights for knowledgeable decision-making in crafting effective and equitable environmental policies that promote sustainable monetary growth while supporting workers and communities via the transition to a greener future.
With the prevalence of the ESG investment concept in China, the scale of ESG investment continues to grow. Taking A-share listed firms as the study sample, this research study empirically investigates the influence and mechanism of corporate ESG performance on the tendency of fund shareholding. The study findings indicate that corporations with better ESG performances are more inclined to attract funds to hold shares. Further, the impact mechanism analysis shows that ESG affects fund ownership mainly through two paths: reducing the risk of stock price collapse and improving the financial performance of enterprises. Further research finds that ESG performance exerts a stronger impact on increasing fund ownership in non-SOE firms than in state-owned firms. Also, firms with sound ESG performance are more inclined to pay cash dividends to return to shareholders. The extended study finds that the effect of ESG on fund shareholding behavior is mainly due to the enhancing effect of three dimensions: management practices, environmental dimension, and social dimension. The conclusion remains unchanged after passing tests such as endogeneity. This research extends a theoretical reference for comprehending the role of ESG in the capital market.
Climate change is a specific contradiction between human activity and the natural environment, especially after the Industrial Revolution. War, as the human activity with the highest intensity, plays an important role in the modern era. This paper comprehensively analyzes the negative and positive impacts of war on climate change. On the one hand, the war increases the carbon emission from post-war reconstruction and the direct destruction brought by the war. On the other hand, war especially war involving major energy-producing countries warns other countries to take an effort to reduce their reliance on fossil-fuel that those energy-producing countries are dominating. This will make the war become beneficial for energy transformation from fossil fuel to renewables. It specifically takes the Yom-Kippur War and the Russia-Ukraine War as examples to illustrate this statement. Meanwhile, it presents a hypothesis, trying to explain the reasons behind the cyclical instability and armed conflict in certain energy-rich regions since the 20th century by making the connection between energy and political circumstance, investigating the continuous impact of war on climate change due to the war and regional instability that linger like a recurring nightmare for decades.
This paper explores Shanghai’s comprehensive waste classification policy, highlighting its impact on waste reduction, recycling, and the economy. The policy engages citizens in waste sorting at the source and leverages a combination of regulations, incentives, and penalties. This study examines the policy’s outcomes, including increased recyclable recovery, reduced hazardous waste, and conversion of waste to valuable resources. Economic benefits such as job creation and a recycling-driven economy are discussed as government investment has boosted the recyclable sector. Growing customer demand under the new policy also creates more jobs. However, challenges such as economic strain and impacts on informal waste collectors should also be acknowledged. Environmental and social concerns, such as plastic bag usage and public dissatisfaction are also addressed. Drawing lessons from waste classification policies in Tokyo and Germany, potential solutions are suggested, including regulatory enhancements, charging mechanisms, stakeholder cooperation, and expanded recycling channels. The abstract underscores the need for continuous evaluation, adaptation, and collaboration to ensure the policy’s success in fostering a sustainable urban environment.
With the rapid development of technology, financial technology (FinTech) is increasingly becoming a powerful driving force in the global financial sector. This paper aims to deeply discuss and study the impact of FinTech on the traditional banking industry, as well as the future trends and risks of the integration of the two. Through the method of combining literature review and case analysis, using data comparative analysis, this paper expounds three parts: the overview of FinTech the impact of FinTech on the business model of traditional banks, and the integration and development of fintech and traditional banks. Through analysis and research, this paper finds that FinTech has a continuous, relatively negative and disruptive impact on many aspects of traditional banking business in recent years, and the strategic trend of the future development of the two has a variety of possibilities as well as risks.
